Fancy some local shopping (in the old workshouse....)
Local shoppers deserve the loveliest things…..
Designers love to make things and, with the wealth of design talent we have in E17, that means very nice things indeed – from jewellery and ceramics to fashion and knitwear, from prints and stationery to soft furnishings and accessories.
But designers also need to sell things if they are to survive – and that’s where E17 Designers’ Markets comes in, creating happy, sociable shopping spaces where you can talk directly to makers and turn your (excellent) taste into pounds in their pockets.
So, make a date for E17 Designers’ Markets this festive season. With a range of different designers showing across all dates, we’ve everything you need to fill a Christmas stocking – and you’ll be supporting the creative community in your area.

Come join us to hear about this history of women activists in East London, and use their stories to create a mini protest banner. All ages and abilities welcome.
From Sylvia Pankhurst, to Women United Against Racism, East London has long been a hub of social activism. However, the stories about women are often sidelined or lost completely. In her Footsteps is a local heritage project that seeks to readdress the gender balance, by shining a light on these unsung female heros.
Come help us celebrate these incredible women, or some you may know yourself, by making a mini protest banner inspired by them.
Please note: this is not a sewing course. However, the template to follow will be very simple and our support workers will be on hand to help the less experienced.
For more information about the project visit www.herfootsteps.org.uk

E17 Designers has been around since 2006, here are some nice things that people say who started with us...
Being a member of E17 Designers has been a real help in starting and growing my business. I had literally no experience of running a business and it offered a way of trying things out within a supportive framework. I got to have access to social media exposure, shared ideas and contacts with other small businesses and got to trade within a small craft market settingat E17 Designers popular local fairs. This meant I was also able to meet and chat with lots of customers and build strong local networks.
E17 Designers has been a great way to establish a loyal and local customer base as well as meeting wonderful local makers.'

Sales picked up in the last fortnight, so we hope that we brought a touch of the individual, hand made and truly one-off way of shopping to the E17 masses!
